(GREENSBORO, NC) – The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts has continued its remarkable success with an incredible second season that drew 382,620 patrons to the state-of-the-art downtown venue.
The impressive second season (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023) was comprised of 251 events and performances that included 59 sold-out shows.
For the second consecutive year, touring Broadway shows played a major role in the venue’s success. Presented with industry partners The Nederlander Organization and Professional Facilities Management, Inc., the ‘Dare to Dream’ First Bank Broadway 2022-23 Season included 16,016 season seat members and sold-out, one-week engagements of Cats, The Book of Mormon, Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations and Beetlejuice: The Musical, capped by a three-week run of Disney’s Frozen.
A diverse lineup of Tanger Center concerts was highlighted by country stars Vince Gill and Martina McBride, blues legend Buddy Guy, rock groups Styx and Jason Isbell + The 400 Unit, R&B great Smokey Robinson, jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall, soul singer/songwriter Jill Scott and Pakistani recording artist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. A wide range of other events included comedy shows, Guilford College’s Bryan Series, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, family shows and all types of live entertainment.
“In just two years, the Tanger Center has established itself as one of the top performing arts centers in country,” said Greensboro Coliseum Complex and Tanger Center managing director Matt Brown. “The wide variety of events have not only enriched our community but also brought thousands of visitors to downtown Greensboro and generated millions in economic impact for our region.”
